THE  MEGA INTERNATIONAL RECORDS STORY

NEWS FLASH::::::::::MEGA INTERNATIONAL IS NOW IN SEARCH OF NEW ARTISTS IN THE FIELDS OF NEW COUNTRY AND HIP HOP/R&B MUSIC.                                                                                                   

The I. C. M. A., GOLDEN MUSIC AWARDS and I. C. M. O. Independent Record label of the year 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99 . Mega International, And now in the year 2003, The winner of the Golden Music Award Held In Nashville, Tn. Mega International Records, "Independent Country Label Of The Year" and "Doc Holiday" "Record Producer Of The Year" along with "European Vocalist Of The Year (Bente' Boe)" and "Best Youth Country Vocalist (Valerie)" Mega International formed in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1981 for the sole purpose of discovering and developing new recording artists.

Even it's logo, "Where Stars Are Born",  told the story of a record label dedicated to that one main goal. However, once the word got out to the record industry, who the people behind Mega were, all that quickly changed. Doc "The Hitman" Holiday - 11 TIME Grammy Nominee, winner of the "Telly" cable television award, an artist with over 8 million records sold worldwide, winner of 71 national music awards, producer of over 100 number one records and C.E.O. of three international music publishing companies, would be "The C.E.O." for Mega International Records. It wasn't long before the big names started flocking to Mega for recording deals. Soon their roster read like a Who's Who of music. Hank Williams Jr., Doug "The Ragin' Cajun" Kershaw, Fats Domino, Narvel Felts, Big Al Downing, Jon Washington & The Fortunes, Herman's Hermits , MIKE PENDERS Searchers, Bernard Jackson of the platinum group, "Surface", Chauncey Black of "Blackstreet" just to name a few.

The meteoric success prompted a move of their main offices from Canada to Virginia in the U.S.A. This move also gave birth to the building of three major, state of the art, recording & video studios in Virginia. But through it all Mega never lost focus of why it was formed, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW AND FRESH TALENT. Now here it is 2002, Mega artists have won nine I.C.M.A. awards for "Best New Independent Artist" in the past seven years. THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN NOMINATED FOR A RECORD 23 AWARDS AT THE 2000 OLC AWARDS IN NEVADA for an unbelievable 21 times. PLUS BEEN ENTERED IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE 2002 & 2003 GRAMMY AWARDS IN 7 CATEGORIES with 17 first round entries . It has also had 103 number one Independent Country Records in the past ten years, with charted records in Billboard, Cashbox, Gavin, R & R, and every major and minor independent chart in the United States and Canada.

Mega in 1999, has been acquired by ARCOA OIL INDUSTRIES OF NORTH AMERICA INC. in conjunction with Holiday & Gregory Associates Inc along with "Hitman" Productions. The merger now gives Mega the capability of booking entertainment throughout the United States, Canada and all of Europe. Mega products are now distributed internationally and available in all major retail record stores in the U.S. and all major Internet providers.

The merger has also prompted a 4 million dollar renovation of the studio facility in Hampton, Virginia which will now house a 96 track, fully automated digital "Studio A", a 48 track digital "Studio B" with both studios holding every piece of outboard gear imaginable, a complete array of the newest in keyboards and computer software available (Pro Tools, Audio Logic Platinum), plus the best of the best in recording microphones, and just to put the icing on the cake , a state of the art video and film division featuring Cannon Digital, Beta S-P format, 16mm format, S-VHS format and 35mm format, plus for editing "The Media 100 System", "Adobe Photoshop System" and Boris After Effects; all this making this complex the highest quality equipped recording/video and film studio on the east coast of the U.S.A.
