December
9th a historic tribute/concert event was held in Asbury Park, New
Jersey at The Stone Pony.
The event was called "THE CREATORS OF S.O.A.P. IN CONCERT" and
focused on the musicians and bands that in fact created The Sound Of
Asbury Park.
Members of those early and mid 60's bands that played the clubs in
Asbury night after night and created the basis for the blend of Blues,
Pop, Rock, Doo Wop and Jazz that became know as SOAP and have been
forgotten for their contribution to a musical sound that changed the face
of musical history.
Members that appeared at this event traveled to Asbury
from all over the country for this historic event. This was the first
time that all of these legendary musicians were joined together on one
stage for one night. The line up included members of the E-street
Band as well as key members of the bands that pushed the musical envelope
to create the sound that Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Bon Jovi and
others from the area took worldwide.
